Developing a Water Sensitive City vision and strategy for the new city of Amaravati
The Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities (CRCWSC) based in Australia has developed a Water Sensitive City vision and strategy for the new city of Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
Alluvium was responsible to (i) Interpret what a water sensitive approach means for Andhra Pradesh (generally) and Amaravati (specifically), (ii) Review the current Amaravati master plan and water services plans to identify opportunities for a water sensitive city approach, (iii) Propose a water sensitive vision and objectives for Amaravati, (iv) Develop stormwater management principles that aligns with the water sensitive vision and objectives, (v) Develop a stormwater management strategy and designs for the Amaravati Government Complex precinct.
